Brigada Medico/Evangelística - Chihuahua, MX

Promovida por Javier Adame, predicador de la Iglesisa de Cristo Guereca, en la ciudad mexicana de Chihuahua, más los miembros de varias iglesias de Cristo de Texas y Oklahoma, se llevó a cabo los días 22 y 23 de octubre, una Brigada Médico/Evangelística. Más de 100 pacientes recibieron atención médica y dental de dos médicos y dos dentistas que dedicaron aquellos días para atender a los enfermos de aquella ciudad. John Knox y Chris Frizzell predicadores de la iglesia de Cristo de Granbury, fueron los que coordinaron esas actividades desde los EUA. La parte evangelística y algo de traducción estuvo bajo mi responsabilidad. En todo glorificamos a Dios.

Advertised by Javier Adame, preacher in Chihuahua, MX, and led by Christians from several churches of Christ in Texas and Oklahoma, a Medical/Evangelistic Mission took place at the Guereca Congregation on October 22 and 23. John Knox and Chris Frizzell, ministers for the Granbury Church of Christ, coordinated the Mission Stateside. The group composed of two medical doctors and two dentists, saw more than 100 patients in two days. I went as the evangelist and helped with some translations. All in all God was glorified through such an effort.

Nueva congregación - Coauhtemoc, MX

Escribe Othoniel, evangelista en Coauhtemoc, en el estado mexicano de Chihuahua: Cerca de poco más de dos semanas una nueva congregación de la Iglesia de Cristo empezó a reunirse en la casa de Othoniel y Paloma. Empezaron con un grupito de 15 personas y muchas ganas de crecer. Hoy recibo correo con las fotos arriba. Se bautizó Karla, la esposa del primer converso de la nueva congregación. ¡Qué Dios les siga prosperando!

Othoniel writes from Coauhtemoc, in the Mexican state of Chihuahua: About two weeks ago a new congregation of the churches of Christ started meeting in this city in Othoniel and Paloma's home. They started with 15 persons and plenty of desire to grow. Today I received an e-mail with the above pictures. A young lady named Karla was baptized; her husband was the first convert at the new congregation. May God keep prospering you!

Libre, Luis se ha reunido con María, su esposa

Durante el tiempo que Luís completaba su sentencia en Middleton (Prisión en Abilene, Texas), era alumno de mi classe los martes. No tardó mucho hasta que Luís, un cubano de La Habana, empezó a ayudarme en la enseñanza. Luís presentaba la perspectiva interior de las lecciones y yo la de fuera.

Ahora que Luís terminó su sentencia se a reunido con María, su esposa. La pareja tiene cuatro niños y vive en El Paso, TX. Cuando les visité, el lunes pasado, fue gozo puro. Fue una ocasión que alelamos por mucho tiempo.

Mientras estuvimos juntos nos reimos y lloramos juntos. Pero sobretodo agradecimos al Señor por la libertad tanto de la prisión como la libertad de las garras de Satanás. Ahora Luís está buscando trabajo en el campo de la construcción civil. Al terminar su tiempo de libertad condicional, Luís quiere prepararse para ser un ministro en la prisión.

During the time Luis was completing his sentence at Middleton (TDCJ), he was in my Tues night's class. It was not long till Luis, a Cuban from Havana, started teaching with me. Luis presented the insider's perspective while I brought the perspective from an outsider. Now Luis has completed his sentence and has been united with his sweet wife Maria. They have four small children and live in El Paso, TX. When I visited them last Monday and Tuesday, it was pure joy! It was a time we had longed for a long time.

While we were together we ate together, we laughed and we cried together. But above all we gave thanks to the Lord for freedom from prison bars as well as freedom from Satan's clutches. Now Luis is looking for a job. After his probation time is over, Luis wants to prepare himself to work as a prison minister.
